THIS JUST IN

Austin, upon arriving at his Nussbaum double, found his supposed "roommate" to be MIA! His name was not only not on the occupancy agreement, but more importantly not on a kitschy door nametag! There was only one nametag present for member-of-blog, Austin. Did the roommate's plans change last minute? Did he fall ill? Is he nervous to live with a black man?? We will never know. A quick phone call to Columbia Housing could, of course, elucidate the matter, but I PREFER TO LIVE IN MYSTERY, THANK YOU.

Congratulations, Austin, on your well-deserved but really just gotten-by-pure-luck dingle.

As I'm sure we all know, I am indeed in a double in Nussbaum (bagels!) Here begins the countdown to the unveiling of this mystery roommate. I don't know who my roommate is yet, but as soon as I do--you will be the first to know. Right here, on the blog.

By the looks of it BWY 1007 also has:

1. A really far walk to the elevators (Rachel is right by the elevators!).
2. A really far walk to the floor lounge (Rachel is right by her newly renovated floor lounge!).
3. A window that the sun shines directly into really brightly, keeping the room extra hot (as I'm told this is a unique phenomenon in this line of bwy rooms, I don't think Rachel's room has this!).

Bragging Post

By the looks of it, BWY 1007 has:

1. Air Conditioning
2. 134 luxurious square feet
3. A downtown looking skyline view?!

Two Musings

1. Austin, member of the blog, has received a double in Nussbaum. But he requested a double, so who feels bad for him? Not me! (Sorry, Austin. I do feel a little bad for you. I hope your roommate is nice, clean, etc.)

2. Is there any point to this blog anymore?

Further Updates

The contract available to be signed on the housing website is the "2008 Summer Contract." Last time I checked, it was 2009, Columbia housing. And I checked on January 1st! 

Furthermore, both Jeff and Rachel's occupancy periods are listed as 5/25 to 7/2, indicating only the first session, though Jeff and Rachel are both pretty sure but not a hundred percent sure but pretty sure that they signed up for the whole summer (5/25 - 8/14)!

Columbia housing, you're like Ross and Rachel in the first three seasons of Friends -- you need to get it together.

UPDATE ON APPLICATION SITE

if you go to https://housing.columbia.edu/StarPortal/ it now has the option to sign my "Occupancy Agreement" EXCEPT THAT instead of telling me what my room is it just says " (unallocated)"

YES COLUMBIA I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN (unallocated) ALL SUMMER!!
